Two Night / Three Day

Day One: Guests arrive and check into their deluxe cabin. An early afternoon arrival will allow time to catch the free interpretive guided ranger walk at the historic Dyea town site in the Klondike National Park as well as exploring Slide cemetery and the legendary Chilkoot Trail.

Black bear and grizzlies are often seen feasting on berries and fish in Dyea. In the evening guests will enjoy BBQ’ing their scrumptious surf & turf picnic basket in our rustic yet well appointed gazebo before retiring to the Campfire for a very special Outpost S’more as described below. Outpost staff will be happy to assist guests upon request.

Day Two: After a Hearty Alaskan Breakfast

Choose one of the following:

A 3 ½ hour breath-taking narrow-gauge excursion on the renowned White Pass Yukon Railroad. This 40 mile round trip climbs from tidewater at Skagway to the summit of the White Pass. The fully narrated tour features cascading waterfalls, historic sites and spectacular scenery! Guests ride in comfortable restored and replica coaches pulled by vintage diesel locomotives.


A guided hike up the famous Chilkoot Trail for a few miles followed by an incredible scenic raft ride down the pristine and gentle Taiya River returning you to the Chilkoot Trail Outpost for the ultimate relaxation. A knowledgeable guide will point out wildlife with frequent sightings of indigenous bears and eagles as well as native plants. You will also enjoy fascinating historic stories regarding this area of the Klondike National Park.

After freshening up and grabbing a bite at a local eatery, guests can enjoy the many sites and attractions including shopping in historic Skagway. This package includes vouchers for the 75 year old hometown production of The Days of ’98 Show. Guests will enjoy this musical comedy of Skagway featuring the legendary con-man Soapy Smith and dance hall girls. The Days of ’98 Show truly brings Skagway’s colorful history to life!

Return to the Outpost to enjoy shared stories and s’mores by the campfire with other guests from around the globe.

Day Three: After breakfast, savor the sights and sounds of the 145+ bird species found here where the banks of the Tayia River collide with the Pacific Ocean. A short walk or bike ride viewing wildlife is a great way to end the Outpost adventure. - Check out and departure

Cabin and Meal descriptions are as follows:

The deluxe cabins feature custom appointed décor and incredibly comfortable beds with hand sewn quilts. Cabins are equipped with a microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, satellite TV/VCR, private bath, in room snacks and high speed wireless internet. The rooms are beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Each cabin features custom log furnishings. Our hearty Alaskan breakfast is scrambled ham and eggs (topped with cheese), pancakes, sweet breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, hot and cold cereals and our signature smoked salmon bagels.

The surf and turf dinner basket choices are fresh blackened halibut or marinated sockeye salmon for the surf accompanied with a choice of a top sirloin steak seasoned with Montreal pepper and garlic or a teriyaki chicken breast Dinner is complimented with a potato, fresh cole slaw, dinner roll with butter, sour cream, tarter sauce, plate, napkin, fork & knife, mint and toothpick. Our guests are given complete cooking instructions so their dinner is ALWAYS perfect! Our staff will be happy to assist those who need it. Retreat to the campfire to make s’mores and mingle with others visiting us to top off a perfect evening!

We are located less than a half mile from the famous Chilkoot Trailhead. We are a short one-mile walk or ride to the renowned Slide cemetery and the old Gold Rush ghost town of Dyea. Hiker's 'Suite' Deal

Your package includes two nights accommodations in a hiker's suite (before and after the trail), an Outpost surf and turf BBQ, lunch and train transportation from Bennett Lake, two hearty Alaskan breakfasts and of course all of the amenities that we offer to our guests. Indulge yourself in a refreshing hot mountain spring shower upon your return. Package is per person, minimum two persons per cabin, all taxes included.

Everything a Two night/Three day package boasts, with the addition of an extra day to enjoy all the area attractions or a simple peaceful day to relax and take in all that nature has to offer in the pristine Dyea Valley. Based on double occupancy. All taxes included.

Four Night / Five Day

This is the ultimate for your Alaskan Vacation. Review your choices for Day 1 & 2. Enjoy the local sites or visit Historic Haines for the day 3. Shuttles depart hourly. Day 4 offers one of the following three incredible tours to choose from:

1) Depart at 8 AM travel to Juneau aboard the Fjordland, a 65-foot, state-of-the-art, fast-hulled catamaran specially designed for the waters of Lynn Canal. The Fjordland offers comfortable, indoor seating with 360-degree views. Upon arrival at Auke Bay, board the motorcoach for a transfer to downtown Juneau. The bus drops off at Marine Park on the waterfront, with easy access to restaurants and shopping. You'll have approximately three hours of "free" time to explore downtown before re-boarding the bus for spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. At the glacier, enjoy walking the trails, taking photos and checking out the visitor center before the bus returns you to Auke Bay for your evening cruise back to Skagway arriving approximately 8 PM.


2) Consider an exclusive Glacier Flightseeing Tour with Skagway Air Service, our own local air taxi, family owned and operated by the Ben Lingle family. This is a unique tour in a wondrous and breathtaking area of lush forests, mammoth glaciers, lofty peaks and abundant wildlife. Glacier Bay is an ice-age time machine in a magnificent setting of wild beauty. Your pilot not only maneuvers above spires of rock and snow, but provides an historical recount of the area, while following the frozen rivers of ice and brilliant blue fjords which have become home to Eagles, Whales, Seals, Bears, Moose and Mountain Goats. This is a world famous aerial adventure.


3) For the adventurous at heart, you may choose a fully guided white water rafting trip provided by Skagway Float Tours. This is a half day trip. All gear, transportation and guides are provided by your experienced hosts Cris Siegal and Katie Leonetti. Details available upon request.
